Summary
In a coordinated approach, the individual is responsible for assisting during/after surgery for cesarean sections, assisting patients with activities of daily living, using and caring for special equipment in Labor and Delivery, and assisting the RN/LPN in the care of antepartum/laboring/delivered patients. The Obstetrical Tech is also responsible for certain clerical and reception duties.
Responsibilities
- Assisting during/after surgery for cesarean sections
- Assisting patients with activities of daily living
- Using and caring for special equipment in Labor and Delivery
- Assisting the RN/LPN in the care of antepartum/laboring/delivered patients
- Performing clerical and reception duties
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Or a graduate of Surgical Technology School
Qualifications
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment
- Good communication skills
- Physical stamina and ability to lift/carry patient supplies
Skills
- Basic knowledge of surgical procedures
- Experience with special equipment used in Labor and Delivery
- Strong organizational and time management skills
