OB Surgical Tech - Labor & Delivery
About the role
The OB Surgical Tech in the Bethesda North Labor and Delivery Unit performs essential technical skills and provides direct assistance to surgeons, anesthesia personnel, registered nurses, and other professionals in the operating room. Duties include preparing instruments, maintaining sterile technique, and supporting the clinical team throughout labor and delivery cases. Additional responsibilities may include performing similar duties in other areas of the hospital.
Responsibilities
- Prepares instruments and maintains sterile technique
- Supports the clinical team throughout labor and delivery cases
- Performs similar duties in other areas of the hospital as assigned
- Contributes to high-quality patient care wherever needed
- Supports both the clinical team and families experiencing childbirth
Requirements
- High School Degree or GED
- OB Surgical Tech Experience - Required
- Perinatal: Ability to complete PCA class and unit specific OB OR classes preferred
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS)

Schedule
The schedule is part-time day shift, with a work schedule of 48 hours bi-weekly, rotating between the 3rd and 4th weekend, and includes holiday rotation.
