OB Surg Tech - Labor & Delivery, Nights

Responsibilities

• Handles instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during obstetrical operations in the Operating Room.
• Anticipates the needs of the surgeon and ensures quality patient care during the operative procedure.
• Maintains the sterile field and is vigilant for its upkeep.
• Performs patient care duties under the direction of a registered nurse.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum Experience: Graduate from a Surgical Technologist training program OR one year previous operating room experience as a Surgical/Delivery Room Technologist OR three years of experience providing direct patient care in a clinical setting.
• Licensure/Certification: BLS required. NRP preferred.
• Additional Qualifications: Completion of a fetal monitoring workshop and an orientation to learn surgical asepsis is preferred.
