About the Role
The OA/DA Military Move Specialist is responsible for managing military moves awarded through third-party bid boards and small shipment relocation moves (SSP). This role coordinates awarded moves in partnership with Military Move Brokers and internal operations teams, ensuring adherence to company policies, contractual obligations, and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage move opportunities through third-party bid boards
- Review move details, scope, timelines, and service requirements to ensure accurate bids
- Coordinate packing, transportation, storage, delivery, and specialty services
- Work with approved third-party vendors to fulfill services not performed internally
- Make decisions to address issues, exceptions, or delays during moves
- Escalate service issues, delays, or exceptions following established procedures (e.g., Red Alert)
- Troubleshoot challenges to ensure moves are completed on schedule and in compliance with service expectations
- Ensure adherence to company policies, contractual obligations, and quality standards
- Support billing accuracy by confirming move completion details and documentation
- Support post-move follow-up and close-out activities
- Update move planning using software programs
- Forward feedback (positive and negative) to Outside Agents
- Audit invoices
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience in the moving/relocation customer service industry, preferably in 3rd party Military moves
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite and proprietary software
- Ability to manage multiple awarded moves simultaneously
- Experience supporting high-volume move environments
Physical Requirements
- Work at a computer for extended periods of time
- Move about the office to access office machinery, cabinets, etc.
- Operate a computer and other office machinery
- Communicate frequently over the phone
