O/N Merchandising Lead – New Club Opening Katy, TX
About the Role
We’re opening a brand-new Sam’s Club in Katy, Texas, and are looking for an Overnight Merchandising Team Leader who is member-obsessed, hands-on, and ready to help build something from the ground up. This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced environment with the unique opportunity to help launch and shape a new location from day one.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support overnight associates by assigning work, setting priorities, and ensuring expectations are clear.
- Communicate goals and provide real-time coaching and feedback to drive strong execution.
- Support recruiting, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance development.
- Partner with club leadership to ensure a smooth transition from overnight to daytime operations.
- Ensure shelves are stocked, merchandise is zoned, and the club is clean, safe, and ready for members each morning.
- Maintain merchandise presentation through stocking, organizing, signing, pricing, and display execution.
- Identify and address shrink, damages, and high-risk product areas.
- Receive and stock merchandise from distribution centers and vendors using company equipment and processes.
- Complete required paperwork, logs, and documentation accurately and on time.
- Support product rotation, code dating, recalls, and sanitation standards.
- Oversee picking and staging of club pickup orders as needed, ensuring accuracy and readiness.
- Conduct safety sweeps and correct or report unsafe conditions.
- Follow procedures for equipment operation, forklift spotting, steel standards, and hazardous material handling.
- Model and enforce compliance with all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Leverage handheld technology and digital tools to manage tasks, inventory, and workflow.
- Monitor progress, adjust plans, and make informed decisions using available data.
- Adapt quickly to new tools, processes, and operational priorities.

Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- 6 months retail experience AND 6 months customer service experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Leading a team.
- Supervising experience to include hiring, evaluating, mentoring, developing, and managing the workload of others.

Pay
The hourly wage range for this position is $22.00 to $30.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
