Nyoro Interpreter

About the role

LanguageLine Solutions is hiring a Bilingual Nyoro-English Phone Interpreter. This is a remote position where interpreters work from their home office. The company offers a variety of services including healthcare, 911, first responders, education, government agencies, and general business.

Responsibilities

• Handle interpreting sessions promptly and professionally.
• Render correct concepts and meanings according to established protocols.
• Speak clearly in both Nyoro and English, using proper pronunciation and enunciation.
• Maintain a professional demeanor throughout interpreting sessions.
• Stay calm during interpreting sessions, especially in emergency situations like 911 calls.
• Maintain punctuality and availability during work hours.
• Follow client instructions and comply with protocol to meet client expectations.
• Understand and adapt to various industries' terminology and procedures.
• Show cultural sensitivity and work in a diverse environment.
• Be prepared to handle emotionally charged and stressful calls.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Nyoro and English with cultural understanding.
• Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills.
• Ability to remain detached and neutral during sensitive conversations.
• Education or work experience in language-related fields preferred.
• Able to adapt to LLS technology enhancements.
• At least 18 years old.
• Licensed to work in the United States.
• Ability to read and write both requested languages preferred.

Pay

The pay rate is $0.75 - $0.90 per minute.

• Must be able to operate a keyboard and mouse.
• Must be able to operate company-provided software and systems.
