NW Deployment Planner I, GND - Planning, Implementation, Coordination (PIC) Team
About the role
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. The Global Network Delivery organization is seeking a highly motivated, best-in-class Network Deployment Planner to join our Planning and Implementation team within AWS Data Center Delivery.
The team is responsible for scoping and planning interdependent capacity scaling projects and new network capacity deployments across several data center locations. The Network Deployment Planner will review project forecasts and ensure physical infrastructure resources are available for execution. You will work closely with infrastructure supply chain & procurement, network engineering, and technical program managers to plan and deliver customer capacity to local data center installation and deployment technicians.
The ideal candidate will possess a technology background that enables them to understand the complexities of Amazon’s sophisticated network architecture. You must be highly autonomous, detail-oriented, and have strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience managing network deployment projects, networking principles, data center operations, cable infrastructure, and fiber solutions is essential.
This position offers high levels of autonomous work with minimal supervision, driving the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks while assisting in developing innovative ways to automate and scale our network as we expand. The ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and collaborative environment is critical for success.
Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to timelines and deliver sustainable, repeatable solutions and processes with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with Install/Deployment Technicians, Supply Chain & Procurement, Network Engineers, and Technical Project Managers to ensure fast, smooth delivery of on-demand customer capacity.
- Apply knowledge of network cabling and optic types, as well as cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
- Demonstrate excellent judgment and analytical skills to prioritize tasks based on fluctuating needs.
- Coordinate design, project timelines, schedules, and construction milestones.
- Apply core project management disciplines, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and critical path management.
- Work effectively under time pressure while maintaining strong organizational skills.
Requirements
- Experience in project management.
- Experience with network hardware, including copper and optical fiber cabling, switches, and routers.
- Competence in networking principles, data center operations, cable infrastructure, and fiber solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in data center, critical environment, computer hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, or data center operations.
- Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
- Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
- Familiarity with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.

Pay
Hourly pay ranges:
- USA, VA, Herndon: $30.91 - $54.18 USD
- USA, WA, Seattle: $30.91 - $54.18 USD
Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
