AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles to help deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.

The Global Network Delivery organization is looking for a highly motivated, best-in-class Network Deployment Planner to join our Planning and Implementation team. This role involves scoping and planning interdependent capacity scaling projects and new network capacity deployments across several data center locations. You will review project forecasts and ensure physical infrastructure resources are available for execution.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to timelines and deliver sustainable, repeatable solutions and processes with an eye on continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with Install/Deployment Technicians, Supply Chain & Procurement, Network Engineers, and Technical Project Managers to ensure fast, smooth delivery of on-demand customer capacity.
  • Apply knowledge of network cabling and optic types, as well as cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
  • Exercise excellent judgment and analytical skills to prioritize tasks based on fluctuating needs.
  • Coordinate design, project timeline/schedule, and construction milestones.
  • Manage core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and critical path.
  • Operate effectively under time pressure while maintaining strong organizational skills.

Requirements

  • Experience with network hardware: copper and optical fiber cabling, switches, routers.
  • Experience in project management.
  • 1+ years of experience in data center or critical environment roles such as Computer Hardware Repair, Infrastructure Cabling, Network Deployment, or Data Center Operations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in data center, critical environment, computer hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, or data center operations.
  • Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
  • Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
  • Familiarity with common networking terms and principles, data center operations, cable infrastructure, and fiber solutions.
  • Highly autonomous, detail-oriented, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience managing network deployment projects.

Pay

Base salary range: $30.91 - $54.18 USD hourly (locations: Herndon, VA; Seattle, WA). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
