About the role

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. The Global Network Delivery organization is looking for a highly motivated, best-in-class Network Deployment Planner to join our Planning and Implementation team within AWS Data Center Delivery. This role involves scoping and planning interdependent capacity scaling projects and new network capacity deployments across several data center locations.

The Network Deployment Planner will work closely with infrastructure supply chain & procurement, network engineering, and technical program managers to plan and deliver customer capacity. You’ll collaborate with teams across AWS to ensure fast, smooth delivery of on-demand capacity to local data center installation and deployment technicians.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to timelines and deliver sustainable, repeatable solutions and processes with an eye on continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Install/Deployment Technicians, Supply Chain & Procurement, Network Engineers, and Technical Project Managers to facilitate smooth capacity execution.
  • Apply knowledge of network cabling and optic types, along with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
  • Demonstrate excellent judgement and analytical skills to prioritize tasks based on fluctuating needs.
  • Coordinate design, project timelines, schedules, and construction milestones.
  • Manage core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and critical path.
  • Work effectively under time pressure while maintaining strong organization.

Requirements

  • Experience in project management.
  • Experience with network hardware: copper and optical fiber cabling, switches, routers.
  • Highly autonomous, detail-oriented, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Competence in networking principles, data center operations, cable infrastructure, and fiber solutions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in data center, critical environment, computer hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, or data center operations.
  • Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
  • Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
