About the role

The Global Network Delivery organization is seeking a highly motivated, best-in-class Network Deployment Planner to join our Planning and Implementation team within AWS Data Center Delivery. This role involves scoping and planning interdependent capacity scaling projects and new network capacity deployments across multiple data center locations. You will review project forecasts and ensure physical infrastructure resources are available for execution. The ideal candidate will have a technology background to understand the complexities of Amazon’s sophisticated network architecture, strong autonomy, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to timelines and deliver sustainable, repeatable solutions and processes with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Install/Deployment Technicians, Supply Chain & Procurement, Network Engineers, and Technical Project Managers to ensure fast, smooth delivery of on-demand customer capacity.
  • Apply knowledge of network cabling and optic types, as well as cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
  • Demonstrate excellent judgment and analytical skills to prioritize tasks based on fluctuating needs.
  • Coordinate design, project timelines, schedules, and construction milestones.
  • Manage core project disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and critical path.
  • Work effectively under time pressure while maintaining strong organizational skills.

Requirements

  • Experience in project management.
  • Experience with network hardware, including copper and optical fiber cabling, switches, and routers.
  • 1+ years of relevant discipline work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in data center, critical environment, computer hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, or data center operations.
  • Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
  • Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
  • Familiarity with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
