Nutrition Program Assistant

This part-time (15 hrs/wk) role supports the Meals on Wheels Kitchen or a Congregate Dining Center in the Franklin County and North Quabbin area. The position is primarily located in Shelburne, MA at the Highland Village facility with frequent assignments to other locations in the area. A 6% pay differential is offered for applicable bilingual skills, and the role is eligible to participate in a 401k plan.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties as Dining Center Manager, including:
  • Supervision of volunteers
  • Kitchen work to prepare (generally reheat pre-prepared food), serve, and clean up after meals
  • Keeping relevant records and data
• Serve as Kitchen Assistant at the Meals on Wheels Kitchen as needed
• Act as back-up for Home Delivered Meals routes to deliver meals
• Administrative tasks and other flexible activities as assigned by the Nutrition Program Director

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license, reliable and insured transportation, and willingness to travel to sites in the service area
• Flexibility and ability to handle a variety of job assignments
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Mathematical competence and attention to detail
• Excellent customer service and administrative skills
• Cooking skills, primarily to reheat pre-prepared foods

Qualifications

• Experience working with older adults and volunteers is a plus
