Nutrition Assistant

About the role

As our Nutrition Assistant, you will assist in delivering high-quality, safe, and efficient food services to patients and staff. Every day you will prepare and deliver meal trays, assist with food preparation, maintain cleanliness, ensure food safety compliance, and interact with patients regarding dietary needs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food within guidelines of menu and dietary requirements using required kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Monitor and maintain food temperatures during cooking, holding, and storage processes.
• Avoid cross-contamination of foods and adhere to personal hygiene requirements.
• Maintain proper labeling of food products and ensure storage of food equipment and machinery per regulations and facility guidelines.
• Maintain knowledge of recipe ingredients to respond to food allergy questions or requests.
• Follow organizational standards and guidelines for a high-quality patient and customer experience.
• Ensure proper meal portioning and an aesthetically pleasing presentation.
• Support team members in all areas of food services including cashier, retail, stocking, cleaning, tray service, dishwashing, food storage, and food prep.

Requirements

• One (1) year of Food Service or Customer Service experience
• Food Handler Permit: AZ – within 30 days of hire or ServSafe Certification: AZ – within 30 days of hire

Preferred

• High School Diploma or GED
• Cashier experience
