DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTION
Functions as a Nutrition Assistant to provide nutrition services to low risk WIC participants: pregnant women, breastfeeding women and caregivers of infants and children. Includes collection and assessment of anthropometric, hematologic and dietary information. Provides counseling, appropriate WIC food package, and follow up nutrition education based on risk assessment.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)
- Experience: 1-3 years general office experience.
- Computer skills, some work in health field helpful.
- Education and Training: High school graduate, aptitude in science or health/nutrition preferred, and WIC state training (to be completed upon employment at WIC).
- Licenses, Certifications & Registrations: N/A
Other Requirements
- Must be able to process WIC information accurately.
- Must be able to communicate with WIC clients and other supportive agencies appropriately.
- Must be available to travel to and work at all WIC sites during clinic hours, as needed.
