Description
MaineHealth is offering a $3,000 sign on bonus for Nursing Unit Secretaries, eligible for Full or Part time positions. Part time hires receive prorated amounts, while per diem hires are ineligible. Current and former MaineHealth members are ineligible for the bonus until more than 6 months after leaving employment.
About the role
The Nursing Unit Secretary role at the NICU in The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital performs clerical, receptionist, and transporter duties. This role also involves advanced unit involvement in projects and house-wide activities. Candidates should have excellent customer service skills, critical thinking abilities, and effective communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform clerical and receptionist duties
- Transport patients as needed
- Involvement in unit and house-wide projects
- Effective communication with team members, patients, and their families
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Current BLS certification preferred or may be required based on location
- One year of hospital or health care setting experience preferred
