About the role

The Nursing Student Success and Recruitment Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the success of the diverse student population in the Malek School of Nursing Professions (MSNP). Reporting to the Director, this position manages the daily operations for enrollment management and student success.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the admission of students into the Nursing programs in conjunction with Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions, the Nursing Admissions Committee, program chairs/directors, and professional advisors.
  • Act as a supplemental advisor to Nursing students, as needed.
  • Implements and upholds graduate and undergraduate Nursing processes for MSNP, including but not limited to student admission, progression, and board exam preparation.
  • Maintain and update the Nursing program websites as needed.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement strategic recruitment and enrollment initiatives aligned with the school's goals and target student populations.

  • Collaborate with faculty to streamline the admissions decision-making process, ensuring timely and consistent evaluation of applicants.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, such as high school counselors, community college advisors, and healthcare organizations, to promote nursing programs and recruit prospective students.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to enrollment, retention, and student success, and use this data to inform program improvements.
  • Coordinate with student services to develop and implement retention strategies and support programs for first- and second-year students, as well as across all nursing programs.
  • Develop and manage a system of early alert to identify students who are at-risk within individual course or the program.
  • Work with students to develop individualized student success plans, coordinating targeted supports using university resources such as tutoring, supplemental instruction, faculty mentoring, financial aid, and student access services.
  • Collaborate with faculty to identify and address academic challenges and barriers to student success and develop interventions to support at-risk students.
  • Manage co-curricular supports for NCLEX test preparation, including management of ATI test preparation resources and events.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of the school's website, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information on programs, admissions requirements, and student resources.
  • Stay current on trends and best practices in nursing education, enrollment management, and student success, and make recommendations for program improvements based on this knowledge.
  • Plan events that support admissions, student success, and student engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree preferred in nursing, education, administration, or related field.
  • Proven track record of managing student success in higher education and developing and implementing student retention strategies; working knowledge of admissions processes is preferred, but having experience in either admissions or student success is required.
  • Registered Nurse license; Master’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of best practices in student affairs, student retention, and enrollment management is central to this role.
  • Special knowledge in event planning and logistics, transcript evaluation; academic program development, and career development could also be beneficial but are not core requirements.

Pay

$37,500 at 50% FTE. It is competitive, market-based, and aligned with the University’s financial framework.
