Nursing Station Technician - Med/Surg

About the role

Fairview is seeking a Nursing Station Technician at the M Health Fairview Northland Medical Center in Princeton, MN. This position works 64 hours every two weeks, rotating 8-hour day and night shifts, and every other weekend. Eligible for benefits including medical, dental, and more.

Responsibilities

• Work under direction of nursing personnel to provide patient care.
• May work as a patient care attendant.
• Performs delegated nursing functions including personal care, ambulation, exercise, nutrition, specimen collection, and vital signs.
• Affords patient privacy and safety.
• Communicates effectively with all members of the health care team.
• Maintains patient confidentiality.
• Coordinates activities of the desk area to provide prompt, accurate, and courteous handling of communication.

Requirements

• Basic Life Support (American Heart Association or Red Cross).
• Successful completion of Fairview’s OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or another Fairview-sponsored Nursing Assistant program.
• Six months of recent direct care experience in a long term, home care, or acute care setting.
• Current enrollment in an LPN, RN, or Nurse Practitioner program with completion of one semester of clinical rotation.
• Current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (American Heart Association or Red Cross).
• One or more of the following: Successful completion of Fairview’s OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or another Fairview-sponsored Nursing Assistant program.
• Six months of recent direct care experience in a long term, home care or acute care setting.
• Current enrollment in an LPN, RN, or Nurse Practitioner program, and completion of one (1) semester of clinical rotation within the program.
• Current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire.

Skills

Knowledge of basic medical terminology and proper abbreviations. Demonstrates general knowledge of cost containment and awareness of cost control by following designated standards of the patient care area.

Pay

Compensation within the posted range may vary based on various factors including skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. The maximum of the range is not typically offered. If eligible, a sign-on bonus may be available.
