Nursing Station Technician - Med/Surg Medical - 12hr Shifts
About the role
Fairview is seeking a Nursing Station Technician at the M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN. This position works 60 hours every two weeks on the Day shift, rotating every third weekend.
Responsibilities
- Assists the professional caregiver in delivering patient care
- Transports patient and/or equipment
- Sets up and maintains patient rooms
- Reorders and stocks supplies
- Calls and processes admissions, discharges, and transfers
- Transcribes orders and assembles patient charts
- Orders and stocks supplies
- Performs other tasks as needed
Requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required
- Successful completion of Fairview’s OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or another Fairview-sponsored Nursing Assistant program
- Ontrack participants must obtain BLS for Healthcare Providers certification upon completion of the OnTrack program
- Current enrollment in an LPN, RN, or Nurse Practitioner program with completion of one semester of clinical rotation within the program
- Current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire
Qualifications
- Successful completion of Fairview’s OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or another Fairview-sponsored Nursing Assistant program
- Six months of recent direct care experience in a long-term, home care, or acute care setting
- Current enrollment in an LPN, RN, or Nurse Practitioner program, with completion of one semester of clinical rotation within the program
- Current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire
Skills
Excellent customer service, teamwork, and communication skills are essential. Must be able to work autonomously and under the direction of a professional nurse.
