Nursing Station Technician - Med/Surg - 12hr Shifts

About the role

Fairview is seeking a Nursing Station Technician at the M Health Fairview Northland Medical Center in Princeton, MN. This position works 48 hours every two weeks, rotating 12-hour day and night shifts, and every third weekend. Eligible for benefits including medical, dental, and more.

Responsibilities

• Work under direction of nursing personnel to provide patient care
• May work as a patient care attendant
• Performs delegated nursing functions including personal care, ambulation, exercise, nutrition, specimen collection, and vital signs
• Aids in patient care tasks such as bathing, feeding, answering call lights, transporting, and care of the environment
• Utilizes equipment, phones, clerical, transcription, and coordinates the flow of communication on the unit

Requirements

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Successful completion of Fairview’s OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or equivalent
• Six months of recent direct care experience in a long term, home care, or acute care setting
• Current enrollment in an LPN, RN, or Nurse Practitioner program with one semester of clinical rotation completed
• Current Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry certification upon hire

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• One or more of the following: successful completion of Fairview’s OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or another Fairview-sponsored Nursing Assistant program, six months of recent direct care experience in a long term, home care, or acute care setting, current enrollment in an LPN, RN, or Nurse Practitioner program with one semester of clinical rotation completed, current Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry certification upon hire

Skills

Knowledge of basic nursing procedures, ability to communicate effectively, and proficiency in using medical equipment and supplies.
