About the role

The Manager, Nursing – Naven Health Operations is a licensed professional who assumes responsibility and accountability for the management, administration, and coordination of nursing within an assigned territory in accordance with company standards and policies, as well as state, federal, and accrediting body guidelines. This role assists in planning activities, organizes, administers, and supervises health services within the assigned territory, ensuring a total quality management program for all aspects of patient care. The Nurse Manager is responsible for assisting the Area Director of Nursing in meeting operational and financial goals, with 90-100% of time dedicated to managing nursing operations. In a Home Health Agency, this position may also serve as the alternate administrator and/or alternate director of nursing.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the activities of the assigned nursing team to ensure scheduling and administrative duties are completed in a timely manner.
  • Ensures compliance with company requirements, established standards of practice, federal and state regulations, accreditation standards, and home health agency policies (if applicable).
  • Implements policies and procedures and oversees the selection, development, and monitoring of nursing staff.
  • Supervises and evaluates staff providing direct patient care and assists with all human resource issues related to nursing team members, including onboarding, performance evaluations, disciplines, and terminations.
  • Reviews time entry for direct reports, including updating errors, reviewing overall time entry, and identifying events outside of the expected standard duration for visits.
  • Maintains compliance with state and federal guidelines; may serve as the Administrator of the home health agency as applicable.
  • Ensures all nurses providing care maintain the professional standards of nursing practice.
  • Coordinates patient services with pharmacy, delivery, reimbursement, and other departments both internally and externally.
  • Participates in assessing, managing, and reporting nursing operational and financial data to the Area Director of Nursing, including trend analysis and process improvement plans.
  • Collects and organizes patient-specific information to determine suitability for home care.
  • Assists with providing continuing education to nurses on home care infusion-related items.
  • Participates in on-call responsibilities for the nursing department.
  • Coordinates all patient care and services in cooperation with the Area Director of Nursing.
  • Facilitates a clinical networking system for employees and acts as a clinical resource.
  • Meets all standards outlined in the infusion nurse job descriptions.
  • Provides leadership coverage for a designated geographic region or flexible regional support based on operational needs, including vacancies, leaves of absence, transitions, business growth initiatives, or other areas requiring additional nursing leadership support.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with an active and unrestricted license in the current state of practice.
  • Minimum of 1 year of infusion care experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing oversight experience, including charge nurse, supervisory, or managerial roles.
  • Experience applying knowledge of local, state, federal, accrediting body, and OSHA rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrated competency in the clinical management of home infusion patients.
  • Knowledgeable and competent in patient management skills, including the nursing process.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of documentation and requirements for home health/infusion care goods and services.
  • Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing, organizing, and tracking details to meet deadlines for multiple projects with varying completion dates.
  • Experience in providing training and education on clinical services processes, documentation, and user manuals.

Skills

  • Basic level skill in Microsoft Word (e.g., opening documents, formatting text, using track changes, spell check, and print functions).
  • Basic level skill in Microsoft Excel (e.g., opening workbooks, formatting cells, using formulas, sorting, and printing worksheets).
  • Basic skill level in Microsoft PowerPoint (e.g., creating slides, inserting tables, running slide shows).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • 2 years of infusion care experience.
  • 2 years of nursing supervisory/managerial experience.
  • CRNI or other professional certification.
  • Documentation of advanced management training.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods in a home office setting.

Travel Requirements

Willing to travel 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Pay

Salary is determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. Pay range: $71,793.92–$119,664.04.
