Nursing Manager

Description POSITION SUMMARY: We approach patient care from a holistic recovery approach, paying attention to our patients' complex and individualized needs. Our program utilizes both group and individualized therapy, psychopharmacology, pharmacogenetic testing, and a wide variety of adjuvant therapies. We are a voluntary facility – patients are here on their own accord, and we do not utilize restraints or forceful measures of treatment. Essential Duties Directing and overseeing our amazing nursing team (RNs, LPNs, CNAs)Developing and carrying out nursing department policies and proceduresManage department record keeping and nursing staff documentationManaging facility infection control policies and procedures as neededWorking with medical and clinical teams to plan, carry out, and evaluate patient treatment plansMaintain a safe and sanitary environmentAttends staff training and meetings as required by the employerCommunicating with the pharmacy as neededAssisting the nursing team with daily activities as neededFollows all policies and procedures with regard to patient information protection, including alcohol-drug patient confidentiality and HIPAAOther duties as assigned Requirements Minimum Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and current R.N. state licensure. 3 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year of supervisory experienceExperience in policy management, leadership, and regulation complianceKnowledge of legal regulations and evidence-based practiceAbility to deal with both chemically dependent and individuals in psychiatric care in a non-judgmental, compassionate fashionExcellent skills in communication, problem-solving, and customer serviceDemonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships with other staff as well as with referral sourcesAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions from a wide variety of data and deal with several abstract and concrete variablesValid and unrestricted RN license in TNCurrent BLS certificate Key Competencies Compassion toward people in recovery and in mental health treatmentExcellent nursing judgmentWillingness to work with clients of all backgrounds and populations.Patience with the client populationExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalSelf-starter and problem solverExperience with The Joint Commission accreditationExperience working in nursing leadership in the field of behavioral health Work Environment This position requires you to work in a temperature-controlled environment. Standing for periods of time may be required. Occasional need for lifting 50lbs or more. Potential exposure to violent situations.
