Nursing Director - Resident Care / Assisted Living

About the Role

A premier senior living community in Union County, NJ is seeking a Resident Care Director (RN) to lead clinical operations and resident wellness. This is a highly visible department head role ideal for a confident nurse leader who enjoys balancing clinical leadership, regulatory excellence, and strong team development.

Responsibilities

• Lead all clinical services, nursing operations, and resident wellness programming
• Oversee assessments, care planning, and Individualized Service Plans (ISPs)
• Coordinate care with physicians, pharmacy partners, therapy, hospice, and other services
• Direct medication management and infection prevention programs
• Drive Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives
• Ensure compliance with applicable clinical and regulatory standards
• Recruit, train, coach, and develop a high-performing clinical team
• Manage staffing, scheduling, and departmental budgeting
• Partner with leadership/admissions to support appropriate move-ins and exceptional resident outcomes

Requirements

• Active RN license (required)
• 2+ years RN experience (required)
• 1+ year nursing leadership/management experience (required)
• Working knowledge of assisted living regulations and resident care compliance
• Senior living/assisted living/LTC/memory care/home health experience (preferred)
• Strong clinical assessment skills, leadership presence, and communication

Pay

Competitive base salary ($93,000 - $130,000+)

Schedule

Role mix is approximately 60% administrative / 40% hands-on with strong floor presence, family engagement, and weekly physician rounding.
