Responsibilities

• Supervises, counsels and evaluates Caregivers
• Prepares Caregivers’ daily work assignments, ensuring that work is distributed in an efficient and equitable manner
• Conducts daily care plan meetings at the change of shifts
• Supervises, counsels and evaluates the LPN’s and the medicine pass process as applicable
• Manages all areas of the Medication Room
• Updates/coordinates care plans with Unit Coordinator/Administrator
• Maintains schedules for visiting physicians and coordinates appointments for elders
• Identifies needed in-services and coordinates their programming with the Unit Coordinator/Administrator
• Provides for or oversees the nursing treatments provided in the facility
• Oversees the daily census and ensures its accuracy
• Works with Administrator to ensure payroll is accurate
• Oversees day to day operation of the unit to ensure functions are carried out to meet the needs of elders in compliance with individual care plans
• Oversees and assists in calls to doctors in reference to orders, pharmacy, diets, review test results and follow ups as necessary
