Nursing Administrative Supervisor
About the role
Represents administration, directs facility operations, and supervises personnel in all departments when leadership/management staff is not present in the facility. Serves as administrative liaison to all hospital departments, agencies, and physicians and provides functional guidance to all units. Acts as a resource for decision-making concerning patient care services, non-clinical services, staffing, and ensures that hospital policies and procedures are properly interpreted and applied.
Responsibilities

- Serve as administrative liaison to hospital departments, agencies, physicians, and provide guidance to all units.
- Support decision-making related to patient care, non-clinical services, and staffing.
- Ensure proper interpretation and application of hospital policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current RN-Registered Nurse licensure for the state where care is provided.
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification.
- ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.
- PALS-Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification.
- NRP-Neonatal Resuscitation certification.
Qualifications
- 12 years of recent relevant experience.
- Knowledge of nursing principles and practices for inpatient settings, emergency departments, surgical services, and ambulatory care.
- Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory requirements, including The Joint Commission, Department of Health Services, Title 22, CMA, and OSHA.
- Understanding of administrative and clinical areas with emphasis on hospital and nursing standards of patient care.
- Familiarity with hospital and medical staff organization, structure, and medical terminology, including diagnostic and operative procedures.
- Knowledge of policies and procedures for accessing Pharmacy and dispensing drugs when the Pharmacy is closed.
- Proven experience in physician relations, supervision, personnel management, and navigating complex environments.
- Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills in a complex environment.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- Leadership and team skills to work cooperatively.
Schedule
- Shift: Days (12-hour shifts)
- Days of the week: Variable
- Weekend requirements: Every other weekend
- Hours per week: 36
- Position type: Part-time, non-exempt, regular employee status
Pay
Pay range is $104.86 to $146.80 per hour. The compensation range may vary based on geographic location, candidate experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is one component of Sutter Health’s comprehensive total rewards program.
