Nursing Administrative Supervisor

About the role
Represents administration, directs facility operations, and supervises personnel in all departments when leadership/management staff is not present in the facility. Serves as administrative liaison to all hospital departments, agencies, and physicians and provides functional guidance to all units. Serves as a resource for decision-making concerning patient care services, non-clinical services, staffing, and ensures that hospital policies and procedures are properly interpreted and applied.
Responsibilities
- Direct facility operations and supervise personnel in the absence of leadership/management staff
- Act as administrative liaison to hospital departments, agencies, and physicians
- Provide functional guidance to all units
- Support decision-making for patient care services, non-clinical services, and staffing
- Ensure proper interpretation and application of hospital policies and procedures
- Access Pharmacy and dispense drugs during off-hours as required
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current California RN license
- BLS (Basic Life Support) Healthcare Provider certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- 12 years of recent relevant experience
Skills & Knowledge
- Knowledge of nursing principles and practices for inpatient settings, emergency departments, surgical services, and ambulatory care
- Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory requirements (Joint Commission, Department of Health Services, Title 22, CMA, OSHA)
- Understanding of hospital and nursing standards of patient care
- Familiarity with hospital and medical staff organization and structure, including medical terminology, diagnostic, and operative procedures
- Experience with physician relations, supervision, and personnel management in a complex environment
- Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with confidential information and interact diplomatically at all organizational levels
- Leadership and team skills for cooperative work environments
Schedule
- Shift: Varied (12-hour shifts)
- Days: Variable
- Weekend requirements: Every other weekend
Pay
Pay range is $104.86 to $146.80 per hour. The compensation range may vary based on geographic location, candidate experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs.
