About the role

Represents administration, directs facility operations, and supervises personnel in all departments when leadership/management staff is not present in the facility. Serves as administrative liaison to all hospital departments, agencies, and physicians and provides functional guidance to all units. Serves as a resource for decision-making concerning patient care services, non-clinical services, staffing, and ensures that hospital policies and procedures are properly interpreted and applied.

Responsibilities

  • Direct facility operations and supervise personnel in the absence of leadership/management staff
  • Act as administrative liaison to hospital departments, agencies, and physicians
  • Provide functional guidance to all units
  • Support decision-making for patient care services, non-clinical services, and staffing
  • Ensure proper interpretation and application of hospital policies and procedures
  • Access Pharmacy and dispense drugs during off-hours as required

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current California RN license
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) Healthcare Provider certification
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
  • 12 years of recent relevant experience

Skills & Knowledge

  • Knowledge of nursing principles and practices for inpatient settings, emergency departments, surgical services, and ambulatory care
  • Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory requirements (Joint Commission, Department of Health Services, Title 22, CMA, OSHA)
  • Understanding of hospital and nursing standards of patient care
  • Familiarity with hospital and medical staff organization and structure, including medical terminology, diagnostic, and operative procedures
  • Experience with physician relations, supervision, and personnel management in a complex environment
  • Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work with confidential information and interact diplomatically at all organizational levels
  • Leadership and team skills for cooperative work environments

Schedule

  • Shift: Varied (12-hour shifts)
  • Days: Variable
  • Weekend requirements: Every other weekend

Pay

Pay range is $104.86 to $146.80 per hour. The compensation range may vary based on geographic location, candidate experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs.
