- Responsible for ensuring compliance with state laws and regulations.
- Cooperates with CMS to ensure facilities meet federal requirements.
- Oversees certification of nurse assistants, home health aides, hemodialysis technicians, and licensing of nursing home administrators.
Job Description and Duties
- Supports CDPH’s mission and strategic plan by advancing the health and wellbeing of California’s diverse people and communities.
- Works under the direction of the Health Program Manager II and Chief of the Provider Technical Assistance Section.
- Serves as the Outcome and Assessment Information Set (OASIS) Educational Coordinator.
- Assists representatives of Home Health Agencies (HHAs) in ensuring continuing compliance with certification standards for direct patient care.
- Supports the Centralized Program Flex Unit (CPFU) in evaluating program flexibility, workforce shortage waiver, and patient needs waiver applications.
Salary and Benefits
- Starting salary rate of $9,293 under Pay Scales Section 5.
- Recruitment and Retention Differential of $200 per month.
- Subject to Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025, which includes a monthly base pay reduction of 3% in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits through June 2027.
Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nursing (RN) license as required by the Minimum Qualifications of the NS classification.
- Lower-level licensure such as that of a Vocational Nurse (LVN) is non-qualifying for this classification.
