- Licensed, regulated, inspected, and/or certified by various agencies including CDPH, Center for Health Care Quality, and CMS.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with state and federal laws, rules, and regulations.
- Oversees certification of nurse assistants, home health aides, hemodialysis technicians, and licensing of nursing home administrators.
Job Description
- Conduct inspections, investigations, surveys, and evaluations of health facilities.
- Advises healthcare facility administrators and community agencies regarding State health facilities inspections, licensing, and certification programs.
- Enforces state and federal laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to areas affecting total patient care.
- Works under the direction of the Nurse Surveyor Supervisor II.
Qualifications
- A valid Registered Nursing (RN) license as required by the Minimum Qualifications of the NS classification.
- Lower-level licenses such as that of a Vocational Nurse (LVN) are not qualifying for this classification.
Benefits
- Subject to the Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025, which results in a monthly base pay reduction of 3% in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits through June 2027.
Pay
- Starting salary rate of $9,293 under Pay Scales Section 5.
- Salary ranges shown on this job posting do not reflect the salary reduction due to PLP 2025.
Schedule
- Extensive travel will be required.
