About the Role
To perform professional nursing duties utilizing specialized knowledge and skills to ensure implementation of services and therapeutic interventions based on nursing process and Standards of Care promulgated by the Department of Veterans Affairs in long-term care. Schedule
- 6:45 AM – 3:15 PM shifts
- Occasional weekends (additional $2.00/hour)
- Flexible schedule with modified weekend schedule
- PRN (as-needed) resource for the house
Pay
- $42.97 – $66.07 hourly
- Direct Care and Nursing Stipend up to $25.00/week
Responsibilities
- Provide care and treatment for residents, including administration of medication
- Develop comprehensive medical treatment planning and supervise/train subordinates
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to evaluate resident progress toward treatment goals
- Supervise professional and paraprofessional team members
- Provide individual counseling/teaching for residents or staff on health concerns or disease processes
- Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) projects
- Serve as a resource for the facility, ensuring compliance with department policies and procedures
- Maintain competency in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) techniques
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university with major study in nursing, human services, psychology, or a related field
- Three years’ experience as a registered nurse in long-term care, ambulatory care, emergency care, psychiatric nursing, medical-surgical nursing, or a related specialty
- Current license as a Registered Nurse in New Hampshire
- Current certification in CPR
- Certification by the American Nurses Association or another nationally recognized entity in a specialty relevant to long-term nursing care and/or dementia
Note: Each additional year of approved formal education may substitute for one year of required work experience, and vice versa.
