OR Resource Coordinator - RN
About the Role
Works in conjunction with the leader for that service. Performs the primary function of a Registered Nurse in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients. Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments. Organizes and implements service in the assigned specialty area. Coordinates workflow in a timely, efficient manner, including room set-up and turn-over, supplies, and equipment needed prior to case start. Functions in a staff role as needed, including relief for breaks and lunches. Assists in department operational support tasks and duties. Assists in orientation of new coworkers and permanent team members in conjunction with the leader.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the Operating Room.
- Coordinate workflow, including room set-up, turn-over, and preparation of supplies and equipment.
- Function in a staff role, including providing relief for breaks and lunches.
- Assist in department operational support tasks and orientation of new team members.
- Collaborate with preop staff, anesthesia providers, surgeons, and recovery staff to ensure safe patient care.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of OR RN experience.
- Proven leadership skills preferred.
- Nursing Degree from an accredited school (BSN, Associate's Degree, or Diploma).
- Current RN license within the state of Missouri and/or compact licensure.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (or completion within 30 days of hire).
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification as required by the unit.
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Prolonged standing and walking each shift.
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
Preferred Qualifications
- CNOR certification.

Pay
Up to a $20,000 sign-on bonus depending on OR RN experience (no contract required).
Schedule
- Full-Time - 40 hours/week.
- Shift: 8-hour days (Monday-Friday).
- Additional call hours may be required.
About the Department
Mercy Hospital Southeast OR includes general surgery, 2 DaVinci Xis, urology, plastics, gynecology, orthopedic, neurosurgery, and cardiothoracic surgery. Periop 101 through AORN is offered for new registered nurses. The team provides a comforting environment for patients undergoing surgical procedures.
