About the role
The UAB Division of Women’s Reproductive Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider, preferably a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, to provide obstetric and gynecologic care. The position requires a Master's degree in Nursing with a Women’s Health NP or Family NP certification, and prior OB experience for Family NPs.
Responsibilities
- History and Physical exam for routine obstetric patients and well-woman gynecologic visits
- Evaluation and management of GYN and OB complaints
- Collaboration with Obstetricians in managing postpartum patients
- Performing procedures such as endometrial and vulvar biopsy, IUD removal and insertions, and Nexplanon insertion and removal
- Formulating and implementing comprehensive patient care plans
- Maintaining complete documentation of patient assessments, care plans, and care provided
- Ordering and interpreting laboratory and diagnostic tests
- Participating in performance improvement activities
Requirements
- Master's degree in Nursing with Women’s Health NP or Family NP certification
- Prior OB experience for Family NPs
- Currently certified as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) with Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) Specialty by the Alabama Board of Nursing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)

Benefits
Full-time benefited APPs receive an annual $2,000.00 CME allowance.
Pay
Differential Pay Weekend shift differential: $50/shift
Schedule
Full-time, benefited Day shift: Monday - Friday (8am-5pm) Approximately 6 weekends and 2 holidays per year
