Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant - OBGYN

About the role

This position involves practicing professional nursing and medicine, including independent and delegated medical functions, to evaluate, diagnose, and treat human diseases, injuries, and conditions. The role emphasizes patient advocacy, health promotion, and supportive care, utilizing specialized knowledge across biological, physical, social, and behavioral sciences.

Responsibilities

• Obtain medical histories, perform physical exams, and review lab/radiologic studies.
• Develop accurate diagnoses and differential diagnoses based on collected data.
• Create and implement treatment plans, including medication orders, testing, consultations, and follow-up, ensuring safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
• Perform procedures within expertise and organizational policies.
• Counsel patients and families on treatment plans, disease prevention, and health promotion with culturally-sensitive, evidence-based information.
• Record all clinical data, diagnosis, and care activities accurately in medical records.
• Conduct telehealth encounters, manage urgent situations, and perform other clinical or administrative tasks as directed.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Nursing for APNs or Bachelor's Degree for PAs, with accredited program completion.
• Active licensure and certification relevant to the role, including nurse practitioner or physician assistant credentials.
• Knowledge of clinical protocols, patient-centered care, and health promotion.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and cultural competence skills.
• Commitment to continuing education, quality assurance, and professional development.

Additional Requirements

• Valid provider registration, BLS, DEA registration, and credentialing.
• For procedural sedation roles, ACLS certification within 90 days.
• Preferred experience in women’s health and pediatric settings, with no recent graduates.
