Position Summary
The Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner operates as established medical authorities through collaborative care agreement with physicians and surgeons. The NP/PA is responsible for but not limited to the following:
Experience
- Experience in primary care, emergency room, surgery, or occupational medicine settings is required.
Education
- Graduation from an accredited Physician’s Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Program approved by the American Medical Association is required.
- PA-C: Physician Assistant certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician's Assistants (NCCPA) AND Licensed by the Oregon Board of Medical Examiners (OBME).
- NP: Nurse Practitioner licensed by Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) AND RN: Registered Nurse licensed by Oregon State board of Nursing.
Certification/Licensure
- BLS: Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required upon start.
- Required certifications based on area of specialty and defined by Asante medical staff services.
