Nurse Practitioner/ Physician Assistant-Express Care Clinic in Hayesville, NC (EWCH)

Job Summary

Required: BSN required; MSN required. Successful completion of advanced practitioner training and certification as a practitioner (general or specialized) from an approved nurse practitioner program or Physician Assistant program and hold currently or eligible licensure in the state of North Carolina.

PREFERRED:

• Experience: Previous experience in urgent care, emergency medicine or primary care is preferred, along with strong clinical judgement, procedural skills and excellent communication abilities is preferred.
• New grads are welcomed.

Position Requirement(s)

• Licenses/Certifications/Registrations:
• License: Current, unrestricted North Carolina or compact state registered nurse license.
• Certification: Current North Carolina license as an advanced registered nurse practitioner with prescriptive authority.
• BLS: Completed prior to going to the unit/department and maintained going forward.

The Nurse Licensure Compact will not change how to obtain or renew a North Carolina license. However, the North Carolina nursing license will be a single state license for North Carolina Residents or non-compact state residents. North Carolina licensure or multistate licensure from a compact state must be obtained within three months of hire for non-North Carolina residents.

The clinic is designed to improve access to care within the community by offering efficient, same-day treatment while reducing unnecessary emergency department visits. The Advanced Practice Provider in this role serves as a key member of the care team, delivering patient-centered medical services to individuals of all ages in a fast-paced environment. This position requires strong clinical judgment, the ability to work independently, and collaboration with physicians and support staff to ensure continuity of care, optimal patient outcomes, and a positive patient experience. The role directly supports EWCH’s mission to provide accessible, compassionate, and high-quality healthcare to the surrounding rural and regional communities.
