Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant Family Practice/walk in clinic

Job Functions

• Affirms and diagnoses patients through assessments
• Implements and follows up on a treatment plan as needed
• Performs physical examinations and interprets patient data
• Orders, performs, or reviews diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
• Provides instructions on patient care, disease prevention, and health promotion
• Maintains appropriate patient records, including transmitting or executing specific orders
• Prescribes, administers, and dispenses medications, controlled substances, and medical devices as appropriate
• Initiates evaluation and treatment procedures for emergency situations
• Assists in surgery (if applicable)
• Collaborates with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to obtain DEA registration
• Maintains patient confidentiality
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Education/Work Experience

• Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Effectively handles high-stress, fast-paced environments
• Maintains necessary background checks aligned with position functions
• Communicates in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence
• Multi-tasks and responds appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

License/Certifications

• Current Minnesota NP or PA licensure
• CPR Certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Two years previous NP or PA experience in a primary care or urgent care setting

Pay and Benefits

Compensation is determined based on various factors including the requirements of the position, experience, education, knowledge, and skills, as well as location and internal equity. The pay listed does not include any shift, weekend, or other differentials.
