Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant, Express Care

About the role

The Express Care team at Mass General Brigham Medical Group Western Massachusetts, Inc. is seeking a full-time, 36-hour Advanced Practice Provider (APP) – Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their growing team. This role works two weekend shifts per month and rotates among four Express Care locations.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat a wide variety of non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries, including colds, flu, viral illnesses, respiratory infections, ear and eye infections, urinary tract infections, rashes, cuts, minor burns, strains, sprains, fractures, and sports injuries.
• Provide onsite radiology and laboratory services, including blood draws, to support timely diagnosis and treatment.
• Develop and implement appropriate plans of care based on diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings.
• Order and interpret appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
• Write prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.
• Document admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes, and discharge summaries consistently and accurately.
• Perform bedside procedures as appropriate to the patient population.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Physician Assistant required.
• 2 years of experience as a PA required.
• 1 year of Urgent Care, Primary Care, and/or Emergency Medicine experience preferred.
