About the role
The Quick Care Clinic at Daviess Community Hospital is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join their healthcare team.
Responsibilities
- Educate patients and families on medications, diseases, treatment plans and procedures for a diverse patient population.
- Collaborate with members of the healthcare team to offer the best patient care and achieve good outcomes.
- Develop treatment plans for acute and chronic diseases.
- Educate and guide patients on disease prevention and healthy lifestyle habits.
- Understand the changes in health promotion throughout the aging process.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and provide age-appropriate care.
- Perform diagnostic tests and screening evaluations.
- Manage overall patient care regarding lifestyle and development issues.
- Emphasize preventative care and disease management.
- Communicate appropriately and clearly to coworkers.
- Prescribe medications while using medication references as needed.
- Treat patients and their families with respect and dignity.
- Identify and address psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and religious/spiritual needs of patients and their families.
- Revise the plan of care as indicated by the patient's response to treatment.
- Complete computerized documentation in patient's charts in an appropriate timeframe.
- Knowledge of established clinic policies and procedures, objectives, performance improvement program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
Qualifications
- Current Nurse Practitioner License or current Physician Assistant license.
- Current BLS certification.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Certified Basic Life Support (BLS).
- American Heart Association (AHA) Certified Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Confident in diagnosing, treating, educating, and assisting patients of all ages to manage illnesses.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Confident with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) documentation and computer skills.
- Experience preferred but not mandatory.
