Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Orthopedics and Sports Medicine (Methodist Hospital)

About the Role

Full-time day shift position with the following schedule:

• Monday, Tuesday, and Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Clinic)
• Wednesday and Thursday: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (OR)

60% inpatient and 40% outpatient responsibilities, including first assist in the OR, joint injections, and joint aspirations.

Responsibilities

• First assist in the OR
• Inpatient rounding
• Hospital discharges
• Patient education and follow-up phone calls
• Evaluation and management of new, follow-up, and post-operative patients with sports-related injuries in the clinic setting

Requirements

• Master’s degree required
• AGNP, ACNP, FNP, or PA certifications
• Experience working as an Orthopedic Advanced Practice Provider (APP)
• Experienced APP preferred

About the Healthcare System

IU Health Methodist Hospital is a large tertiary referral center with over 1,000 beds and 130 ICU beds. It serves as:

• The largest trauma center in Indianapolis
• A highly subspecialized center for cardiovascular surgery, thoracic surgery, neurosurgery, lung transplantation, and neurocritical care

IU Health is constructing a new downtown hospital and campus, consolidating operations of IU Health Methodist and University Hospitals. The new facility will feature three 16-story towers with 864 beds and is set to open in late 2027. IU School of Medicine is also building a medical education and research facility adjacent to the new hospital.
