The Nurse Practitioner (NP) role at Sanford Health focuses on providing comprehensive care in various healthcare settings, including acute, short-term, and long-term care. Responsibilities

  • Assists physicians in acute, short-term, and long-term care settings
  • Absesses patients and treats injuries and ailments
  • Develops and implements treatment plans based on patient needs
  • Maintains detailed patient records and updates them in a timely manner
  • Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care
  • Provides counseling on self-management of health issues
  • May cover hospital consultations, rounding, and assist with patient procedures as needed
  • Conducts research and incorporates evidence-based practice guidelines into care
  • Maintains current knowledge of state legal regulations and payer systems

Requirements

  • Master’s, postmaster’s, or doctorate from an accredited nurse practitioner program
  • Licenses and certifications as required by the state board of nursing
  • Current Family Nurse Practitioner (NP-C) or (FNP-BC) certification
  • Experience in the field of family medicine
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications

Qualifications

  • Completion of a master’s, postmaster’s, or doctorate from an accredited nurse practitioner program
  • Demonstrated current competence and provision of care, treatment, or services for an adequate volume of patients in the past twelve months
  • Experience must correlate to the privileges requested
  • Current licensure by the applicable state board of nursing for advanced practice
  • Current DEA permit to prescribe controlled substances
  • Obtains and maintains required department-specific competencies and certifications

The annual compensation range for this position is $92,820 - $157,212, depending on the employee's qualifications and experience.
