About the role
The Division of Allergy and Immunology at Akron Children's Hospital is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to help expand services and establish a growing presence in the Marietta/Belpre region.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage a wide variety of allergic and immunologic disorders, including environmental allergies, asthma, chronic hives, food and medication allergies, atopic dermatitis, and primary immunodeficiency disorders.
- Utilize specialized diagnostic tools and procedures, such as allergy skin testing, allergen-specific IgE blood testing, patch testing, oral food challenges, oral immunotherapy, and patient-centered education.
- Collaborate with a team of experienced physicians, nurses, and support staff to provide comprehensive care for both pediatric and adult patients.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that empower patients to better understand and manage their disease.
- Participate in medical team rounds, collaborate with nursing and other healthcare team members, and ensure quality patient care.
- Assist with and facilitate discharge planning, provide consultations, and assist with clinical preceptor duties for APN students.
Requirements
- Master's or Doctoral Degree in Nursing preferred
- Licensed as an RN in State of Ohio
- National Certification as a nurse practitioner by nationally accredited organization
- Certificate of authority and certificate to prescribe from Ohio Board of Nursing
- Credentialing as an active member of medical staff and appropriate medical staff privileges
- Current Health Care Provider BLS training
- Individuals hired without an MSN or DNP and those hired without a certificate to prescribe must actively pursue and obtain a MSN or DNP degree/certificate to prescribe

- Enjoys problem-solving, building relationships with patients and families, and working within a collaborative specialty team
