Nurse Manager (RN)

About the Role

Sierra Vista Hospital is seeking a Nurse Manager to lead a team of healthcare professionals dedicated to serving patients in a behavioral health setting. This position ensures coordinated delivery of patient care in accordance with established standards, hospital policies, and objectives. The Nurse Manager contributes to the hospital’s philosophy, educational efforts, and Quality Improvement initiatives while supervising nursing staff.

Responsibilities

• Ensure coordinated delivery of patient care in alignment with established standards of care, mental health practices, and hospital policies.
• Supervise nursing staff assigned to the unit.
• Contribute to the hospital’s philosophy, objectives, educational programs, and Quality Improvement efforts.
• Maintain compliance with TJC, CMS, OSHA, and state regulatory requirements.
• Complete required training, including CPR certification, behavioral and physical management programs, de-escalation techniques, and appropriate use of seclusion and restraint.
• Pass a medication administration exam before administering medications.
• May be required to work flexible hours.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing; Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience in psychiatric nursing management.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility.
• Current RN license to practice by the State Board of Nursing.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of TJC, CMS, OSHA, and state regulatory requirements is preferred.
