Nurse Manager (RN)

The Nurse Manager-Registered Nurse (RN) position at Select Specialty Hospital - Orlando South plays a central role in providing compassionate, excellent treatment and leadership to chronic, critically ill patients. Responsibilities

• Achieve efficient functioning of designated nursing units on a 24-hour basis under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
• Assess patient care needs and coordinate appropriate assignments of nursing staff to facilitate patient outcomes.
• Coordinate schedules for nursing staff and establish communication channels with medical staff and other departments within the hospital.
• Participate in budgetary formulation and cost containment for areas of responsibility.
• Maintain effective utilization of manpower, equipment, and supplies.
• Assess the need for and assist in implementing staff education and clinical development programs.
• Supervise overall nursing care performance, maintain quality patient care, and provide staff assessments with written evaluations at designated intervals.

Requirements

• Current RN licensure.
• At least 3 years of clinical practice experience with an emphasis on leadership.
• At least 1 year of previous management experience.
• Possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date.
• American Heart Association (AHA) Certified Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's of Science in Nursing preferred.
