About the role
AMG Physical Rehabilitation Hospital – Covington is seeking a Full Time Nurse Manager/Quality RN that is a member of the company administrative team and participates in decision-making, policy determination, and planning and operations of the healthcare company. This position has responsibility for the management of all nursing and clinical practices, including:
- Planning and implementing the performance improvement program to meet the needs of the healthcare company and hospital.
- Providing education to medical staff, hospital staff, and the Governing Body.
- Facilitating performance improvement and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities throughout the healthcare company and hospital.
- Serving as a resource person to the administrative team, department managers, and medical staff.
- Overseeing all regulatory body surveys including State Licensing Review and CMS Validation surveys.
- Managing risk evaluation and coordination of corrective action implementation related to risk issues.
- Providing intervention and education related to risk management issues to promote safe work practices and quality care.
- Coordinating risk programs with all hospital departments, administration, and the legal risk manager.
- Reporting real and potential risk situations to the Governing Body, medical staff, administration, and relevant departments.
- Establishing and monitoring methods to avoid, eliminate, and/or reduce risk situations associated with patient care and services.
- Identifying, investigating, reporting, preventing, and controlling healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) among patients and personnel, in accordance with CDC guidelines and federal/state regulations.
- Assisting with in-service programs related to infection prevention and control.
- Attending to all employee work-related injuries and recommending appropriate action.
- Communicating with the risk manager about trends in the workplace.
Requirements
- Current RN Louisiana clinical licensure in good standing.
- Demonstrated leadership and management ability with a minimum of three to five years of experience in nursing administration.
- 1-3 years of experience in Quality Improvement or Risk Management.
- Minimum three years of experience in a supervisory position in healthcare or one to three years in infection control.
- 3 or more years of experience in an acute care setting.
- Membership in the Association of Practitioners of Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC).
- Working knowledge of microbiology, epidemiology, infectious diseases, aseptic techniques, and current practices.
- Current BLS Certification.
- A minimum of one-year experience in utilization review.
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
