About the role

4S is a complex, 36-bed Medical-Surgical (Step Down) unit at Trinity Health Oakland in Pontiac, Michigan. The hospital is a leading community facility recognized for advanced emergency care and specialty services. The Emergency Department is a Level II Trauma Center and Certified Stroke Center, serving over 60,000 patients annually and currently undergoing a major renovation and expansion to enhance patient experience and care delivery.

Requirements

• State of Michigan Registered Nursing license
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree (required)
• Master’s degree in Nursing, Business, or Health Administration (preferred)
• Minimum of three years’ leadership experience in a related health care setting (five years preferred)

Responsibilities

• Accountable for the management of patient care during a designated timeframe, including coordination, evaluation, teaching, and delegation of patient activities to the healthcare team
• Serves as a member of the organization’s nursing leadership team
• Oversees day-to-day operations, scheduling, staffing, and 24/7 accountability for patient care delivery, planning, and evaluation of services for one or more clinical areas
• Participates in and supports strategic development and outcomes management of nursing clinical areas
• Reviews and evaluates operations and services in accordance with business requirements, marketplace trends, and technological needs
• Provides clinical and administrative leadership for planning, organizing, directing, monitoring, and evaluating safe, high-quality patient care consistent with ANA Scope of Practice, AONL Nurse Leader/Manager competencies, and ANCC Magnet Standards
• Collaborates with directors, key leaders, groups, and stakeholders to develop and implement operational plans, goals, and objectives
