Position Summary

Nurse Manager opportunity with Trinity Health Oakland. 4G is a 26-bed Medical-Surgical Overflow Unit that cares for a diverse patient population with a wide range of medical conditions, including renal failure, respiratory failure, diabetes, sepsis, and heart failure. The variety of diagnoses and patient needs provides an excellent opportunity for nurses to develop and strengthen their clinical skills across multiple specialties.

What The Nurse Manager Will Need

  • State of Michigan Registered Nursing license required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree required. Master’s degree in nursing, Business or Health Administration preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of three years’ leadership experience in a related health care setting, five preferred.

What The Nurse Manager Will Do

The Nurse Manager is accountable for the management of patient care during a designated timeframe. The responsibilities include coordination and evaluation of care, teaching and delegation of patient activities to the other health care team members via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, and the environment. Serves as a member of the organization’s nursing leadership team. Responsible for day-to-day operations, scheduling, staffing and providing 24/7 accountability for patient care delivery, planning, and evaluation of services of one or more clinical areas. Participates in and supports strategic development and outcomes management of nursing clinical areas. Responsible for review and evaluation of operations and services in accordance with business requirements, marketplace trends and technological needs. Provides clinical and administrative leadership for planning, organizing, directing, monitoring and evaluating safe, superior and preeminent quality patient care to ensure the advancement of clinical practice and patient care for a nursing unit that is consistent with the ANA Scope of Practice, American Organization of Nurse Leaders (AONL) Nurse Leader/Manager competencies, and American Nurses Credentialing Center Magnet Standards. Collaborate with and support director and key leaders, groups and stakeholder audiences in the development and implementation of operational plans, goals and objectives.
