Nurse Manager, MDS & Clinical Reimbursement
About the role
This role leads resident assessment and care planning processes, oversees MDS completion and reimbursement accuracy, and ensures alignment across clinical care, documentation, and regulatory requirements. The Nurse Manager works closely with an interdisciplinary team to evaluate resident conditions, develop comprehensive, person-centered care plans, support ICD-10 coding accuracy, and guide nursing staff in delivering high-quality care.
Responsibilities
- Evaluates resident conditions and develops comprehensive, person-centered care plans
- Supports ICD-10 coding accuracy
- Guides nursing staff in delivering high-quality care
- Exercises independent judgment in decisions impacting compliance, quality outcomes, and operational performance
- Supports staffing and team development
- Exercises day-to-day clinical leadership
- Participates in survey readiness, quality assurance, and performance improvement initiatives
- Uses clinical and operational data to strengthen outcomes and mitigate risk
Qualifications and Skills
- Current State RN license
- CPR/AED certification
- Strong clinical assessment and care planning skills
- Effective leadership, coaching, and team development abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- RAC Certification and/or demonstrated MDS/PPS reimbursement experience (preferred)
- Knowledge of ICD-10 coding and regulatory requirements (preferred)
- Prior nurse management or supervisory experience (preferred)
- Minimum two years of MDS and geriatric nursing experience (preferred)
