About the Role
The Nurse Extern supports the nursing team by providing compassionate patient care and assisting with basic nursing tasks.
Responsibilities
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), vital signs, mobility, comfort, and hygiene.
- Perform procedures such as wound care, catheter care, and specimen collection.
- Document care accurately and communicate updates to the nursing team.
- Educate patients and families about care plans and recovery.
- Maintain a safe, clean environment following infection control practices.
- Engage in learning opportunities and collaborate with supervisors for personal growth.
Requirements
- Current enrollment in an accredited nursing program.
- NC (CNA) Certified Nursing Assistant certification.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment.
