About the Role
The Nurse Extern supports the nursing team by providing essential patient care, assisting with activities of daily living, administering basic nursing procedures, and documenting care accurately in a high-quality, nationally recognized hospital environment focused on patient-centered care and professional growth.
Responsibilities
- Helping with vital signs, mobility, hygiene, and comfort
- Performing wound care, specimen collection, and other procedures
- Communicating updates to the nursing team
- Educating patients and families about care plans
- Maintaining a safe, clean environment following infection control practices
- Engaging in learning opportunities to develop skills and improve patient care
Requirements
- Preferred completion of 1+ years of nursing school or as mandated by state
- Current NC CNA registry
- Preferably experience in an acute care setting
- No prior experience required
