Nurse Clinic Manager - (Administrator II) - Student Health Services

The position is an Administrator II in the California State University Management Personnel Plan (MPP), reporting to the Director of the Student Health Services (SHS).

Responsibilities
- Directly supervises and manages the performance of the following classification of staff: Registered Nurses (RN); licensed/unlicensed clinical support staff in the SHS Clinics; and the SHS Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) Waived Lab.
- Provides clinical and administrative supervision in support of SHS's mission, Student Affairs and Enrollment Management's (SAEM) mission, and the values and themes of SF State University's Strategic Plan.
- Partners with campus and community departments/agencies to secure student access to quality health care services on and off campus.
- Led the day-to-day operations and coordination of patient care services.
- Led the clinic to improve patient, provider, and staff satisfaction.
- Identify opportunities to increase quality, safety, effectiveness, and efficiency.
- Identify indicators to measure, evaluate, and improve care.
- Ensure compliance with applicable healthcare regulations and accreditation requirements - Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Healthcare (AAAHC).
- Oversee clinic staffing and scheduling of work assignments.
- Recruit staff members who are in congruence with service excellence and quality patient care.
- Oversee the completion/monitoring of staff competencies and performance evaluations.
- Institute necessary modifications to clinic operations commitments as financial changes dictate.
- Stay abreast of new technology in supplies and equipment and evaluate for quality and cost improvements.
- Evaluate SHS services utilization and make recommendation for improvement.
- Oversees Student Assistants.
- Oversees Immunization program for SHS employees and students.
- Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other campus departments to enhance service delivery and patient outcomes.
- Manage resources effectively.
- Coordinate and/or facilitate staff training and professional development programs.
- Facilitate communication between clinical staff and leadership.
- Handle patient complaints and work to resolve any issues related to clinical services.
- Participate in strategic planning and decision-making processes.
- Oversee medical equipment sterilization process and training.
Requirements
- A current valid license as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
- Successful completion of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree program.
- Possession of a current CPR/AED Certificate.
Qualifications
- A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree or California Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP).
- Full-time equivalent of at least three (3) years of experience as an acute care nurse (outpatient setting).
- Progressively responsible leadership experience in an outpatient health care environment with at least two (2) years of direct supervisory experience, including management of RNs and ancillary clinical staff.
- Experience in supervising and evaluating employees, resolving conflicts, problem solving and facilitating collaboration in a diverse workforce.
- Knowledge of nationally recognized accreditation standards, processes and health care models.
- Knowledge of healthcare clinic administration, budgeting and billing.
- Experience with an electronic medical record system and practice management system to record and analyze the delivery of healthcare.
- Knowledgeable of implementation and assessment of infection control procedures.
- Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to facilitate open discussions and write clear and concise analyses and reports.
- Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with and respond to multiple constituencies at all levels in a large, decentralized organization.
- Experience in young adult/college health.
- Experience in Public Health.

Pay
Anticipated Hiring Range $12,917.00.00 - $13,750.00 per month ($155,004.00 - $165,00.00 Annually)
The salary is commensurate with experience.
