About the role

The RN – Nurse Manager II is primarily responsible for the organization and implementation of daily unit operations of one or more specific nursing units. This individual facilitates, coordinates, and evaluates unit activities for the provision of quality patient care. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate, coordinate, and evaluate unit activities for the provision of quality patient care.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of organizational skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Allocate and manage human resources in assigned areas.
  • Assist in the development of long-term and short-term goals, objectives, policy development, and priority setting for the Nursing Department.

Requirements

  • Education/Experience: Degree in Nursing, Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum 2 years staff nurse experience with progressive experience in nursing and nursing management required.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Active RN licensure required, BLS required, Additional certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, etc) may be required depending upon area assigned.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures.
  • Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Employee development and performance management skills.
