About the role
Utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision making skills, works independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. Provides health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention.
Responsibilities
- Provides health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention.
- Cares for patients ranging in age as noted in age-related category and area of expertise.
- Establishes and enhances positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others.
- Requires high level of customer service skills.
- Serves as a core staff member in an independent practice model with MD oversight from orthopedics.
- Works in a free-standing location away from the main campus with state-of-the-art facilities including 3 exam rooms, a cast room, and a Radiology Suite.
- Works in a very independent practice model with support from onsite radiology tech and athletic trainer.
- No follow-up care – Initial workup and medical care only, all follow up care done by referral.
- Staffing model is Monday – Friday 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Saturday 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Requirements
- Orthopedic Urgent Care - 0.4 FTE.
- NP: Master's degree in nursing.
- PA: Bachelor’s degree in a health/science-related field.
Qualifications
- At least one year of orthopedic experience as an APP.
