Troubleshooting and Maintenance
The HVAC Mechanic troubleshoots, repairs, and installs HVAC electrical, electronic, hydraulic components, and pneumatic control centers. They perform preventive maintenance on all HVAC and ventilation equipment to ensure compliance with service, warranty, and maintenance standards. Written reports and daily logs are maintained to document maintenance and repairs of HVAC systems and energy management systems.
Equipment Operation and Maintenance
Mechanics operate and perform general maintenance on various heating and air conditioning systems, ventilation equipment involving computerized Building Automation Systems, and other related mechanical equipment. They assist vendors and contractors as needed.
Customer Interaction
Mechanics interact with customers regarding heating and air conditioning complaints. They read charts, gauges, levels, and temperatures for all systems and accurately document data. They also operate a computerized preventative maintenance program.

Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or equivalent & a HVAC certificate from a licensed trade school
- Required: 2-4 years mechanics, installation, or related experience
- Preferred: Associate degree in a related field, military comparable or similar training, 4-7 years mechanics, installation, or related experience
